I knew almost immediately when we found out we were having another boy that I wanted to do an airplane-themed nursery. And I am really happy with how it turned out. I stuck with a color scheme of mostly gray, white, and navy, with a few pops of yellow.
I had a couple of bedding sets picked out, but nothing that I was really crazy about. Then I saw this bedding set at Target and LOVED it. It was cheaper than all the others I had my eye on, and I liked it wayyyyy more. Win-win! Wells was not ready to transition into a big boy bed, so we decided to go ahead and buy another crib, and I knew I wanted to go with white this time around.
We picked up the wooden banner letters from Hobby Lobby to spell out "Fly with me" - this may be my favorite touch in the entire room :) And the striped rug from Home Goods really helped to bring in the navy and white like I envisioned.
I got Grayer's dresser through an online yard sale for $40! I was planning to redo Wells' dresser and then redo my childhood dresser for Wells' room. But when I found this dresser (already painted to match the room!), it was perfect. And I didn't really have the energy for 2 dresser projects while pregnant and parenting a 1-year-old. #keepingitreal ...I will probably switch out the knobs when I find something that I like, but for now, I don't mind them one bit. I've had the vintage yellow suitcase for years and love how it brings some color into the room. The diaper basket on the dresser is from Home Goods - it has a fabric liner with an airplane print. This was the first purchase I made for the nursery and gave me inspiration for the room.
The little gallery wall is a collection of frames we already had lying around. In the frames, I included Grayer's 3D ultrasound picture (those lips!!!), a maternity picture, a piece of cloud scrapbook paper, and a navy chevron scrap of fabric that I already had in my craft supplies. I found the dark denim-covered "G" at Michaels. The airplane painting is from my talented bestie, Mary Beth (make sure to visit her Etsy shop!)
The blue crate on the wall is from Hobby Lobby, and so is the yellow model airplane. I purchased a couple of little plane board books, and the metal "G" is from Michaels. The globe is from Home Goods, I believe.
The rocking chair is the one from my Grandma's house that I used in Wells' nursery. It got a fresh coat of white paint to match the room. We sewed up the throw pillow from a gorgeous airplane fabric my mom found at Hobby Lobby.
Some last little touches were the plain navy curtains, the wood-burned plaque with Grayer's initials from my sister-in-law, and the little box of baby toys (with the most adorable airplane toy my sister gave us at Grayer's shower).

Overall, I really love the way the nursery turned out...even if it took me six months to finally take pictures of it! :)
